The Optimus G2 will have a 5.2" IPS display with 1080p resolution and a razor thin bezel (which we saw in the photos). It will launch with Android 4.2.2 running on a Snapdragon 800 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 2GB of RAM (LG is reportedly considering moving up to 3GB). The chipset also enables 150Mbps LTE-Advanced 4G connectivity. A removable 2,700mAh battery will feed all this.
The camera is pegged at 13MP with unusual buttons right next to it, which will serve multiple functions. There are dual-speakers on the bottom.
The LG Optimus G2 is supposedly based on work LG is doing on the Nexus 5, but that will be announced only after the G2 – October 5 says the rumor. The Nexus successor will reportedly bring Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, though we've barely started seeing 4.2 Jelly Bean come out.
